Tottenham 3-0 Burnley: Goals and Highlights
Tottenham started their 2025-26 season with a 3-0 win over Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The 60,000+ crowd saw a dream start for their new manager, Thomas Frank, and Richarlison was the star of the show.
Tottenham 3-0 Burnley: First Goal for Spurs
Spurs didn’t waste any time in scoring their first goal. In the 10th minute, Mohammed Kudus made an instant impact on his Premier League debut. He collected the ball on the right, beat Josh Cullen, and whipped in a great cross. Richarlison met it with a half header and rifled it into the bottom corner past Martin Dubravka to make it 1-0.
Tottenham 3-0 Burnley: Richarlison’s Second Goal
After the first half, where Burnley showed glimpses of promise, Tottenham took control in the second half. In the 60th minute, Kudus was again the key player, breaking free on the right and delivering a great cross. Richarlison was unmarked in the box and scored a bicycle kick that went past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Tottenham 3-0 Burnley: Johnson Wraps it up
Spurs put the game to an end in the 66th minute. Richarlison held up the ball in midfield and released Pape Matar Sarr. Sarr threaded a pass to Brennan Johnson, who outpaced the Burnley defence and slotted a low shot into the far corner to make it 3-0.
Key Players
Richarlison was the man of the match with his two goals and an assist. His first goal showed his finishing, and the bicycle kick showed his flair. Mohammed Kudus, with two assists, was excellent, linking up well with Richarlison. For Burnley, Jaidon Anthony and Hannibal Mejbri had chances but lacked a clinical finisher.
Spurs had 68% possession and had six shots on target to Burnley’s four. Under Thomas Frank, Tottenham played high-pressing, dynamic football and bounced back from their UEFA Super Cup penalty shootout defeat to PSG. Burnley, under Scott Parker, showed some resilience but were breached defensively by Spurs’ attack.
The win sets Tottenham up nicely for the tough trip to Manchester City, and Burnley have Sunderland next in a promoted side.
