Celta Vigo 1-2 Barcelona Highlights | La Liga
Robert Lewandowski came through in the clutch, securing a crucial victory for Barcelona with a penalty kick deep into stoppage time against Celta Vigo in LaLiga over the weekend.
Lewandowski initially put Barcelona ahead with a well-placed shot just before halftime, but Celta Vigo’s Iago Aspas equalized early in the second half with a shot that took a deflection past keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
As the match wore on, Celta Vigo gained momentum and seemed poised to snatch a win until defender Fran Beltran fouled Lamine Yamal in the 93rd minute, leading to the decisive penalty. Although Vicente Guaita managed to save Lewandowski’s first attempt, VAR revealed that the keeper had encroached off his line before the kick, granting Lewandowski another chance which he calmly converted.
With this hard-fought win, Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona side remains in third place in the league standings with 54 points, trailing Girona by two points and league leaders Real Madrid by seven, with both teams having a game in hand.
