FC Copenhagen 1-3 Man City Highlights | UEFA

Manchester City had a bit of a fright but managed to clinch a 3-1 victory against FC Copenhagen in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash at the Parken Stadium on Tuesday. Phil Foden’s late goal secured a comfortable lead for them going into the next leg.

With the Danish team still in their winter break, City started strong and found themselves ahead in the 10th minute when Kevin De Bruyne scored a fantastic goal with a first-time finish past the goalkeeper.

City kept up the pressure, dominating the field early on. The home team’s defense was under constant siege, resembling a target range at Copenhagen’s Tivoli amusement park. However, a brief setback occurred when Jack Grealish got injured, prompting Pep Guardiola to bring on Jeremy Doku.

In a surprising turn of events, Copenhagen leveled the score in the 34th minute with Magnus Mattsson’s debut goal. It was a moment of pure delight for the newcomer, who recently joined from NEC Nijmegen.

City quickly regained the lead just before halftime when Bernardo Silva capitalized on a rebound from De Bruyne’s tenacious tackle.

Despite Copenhagen’s efforts to hold their ground, Foden sealed the deal with a goal in stoppage time, securing City’s 11th consecutive win ahead of the return leg on March 6.
