Fulham 0-1 Manchester United: Stats and Highlights

Manchester United secured a crucial three points against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday evening, but it was a match that lacked much excitement.

Meanwhile, Højlund was virtually anonymous up front, as he faced a strong defensive partnership in Bassey and Joachim Andersen.

The second half began with an injury to Fulham’s Harry Wilson, who was replaced by Adama Traoré. Traoré’s pace and strength gave Manchester United something to worry about, but it wasn’t until later that the game would see its first breakthrough. United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, made a key substitution of his own, taking off Højlund after a largely ineffective performance.

Like the first half, the second period lacked much in terms of clear chances, but in the 78th minute, Manchester United got a bit of luck. A shot from Lisandro Martínez took a heavy deflection off Fulham’s Sasa Lukić and sailed over goalkeeper Bernd Leno into the back of the net, giving United the lead.

In injury time, United thought they had sealed the game with a goal from Diallo, but a VAR check ruled it offside, leaving the score at 1-0. It was a fortunate win for United, who were far from their best but still managed to secure all three points in what was a rather uneventful match.
