Arsenal hit back with two goals in quick succession to turn the game around. In the 33rd minute, Leandro Trossard played a pass to Kai Havertz, who backheeled the ball to Mikel Merino. The former Newcastle midfielder slotted a left-footed shot into the bottom corner, 1-1. Two minutes later, in the 35th minute, Havertz played a low cross to the back post for Bukayo Saka. Alex Murphy, under no pressure, smashed the ball into his net, 2-1 at halftime.

Newcastle Second Goal

The second half saw Newcastle equalise in the 58th minute. Jacob Murphy picked up a loose ball on the right side of Arsenal’s box. Despite bodies around him, he squeezed a low left-footed shot through the crowd, and Raya was caught off guard, and it went in at the near post, 2-2. The goal showed Newcastle’s spirit and set up a nervy last 30 minutes.

Arsenal’s Winner

The turning point came in the 84th minute thanks to 15-year-old wonderkid Max Dowman. On for Saka, Dowman was a whirlwind of energy and pace, forcing saves from Newcastle’s goalkeepers Nick Pope and John Ruddy. His run into the box drew a foul from Joelinton, a penalty. Captain Martin Ødegaard stepped up and fired a left-footed shot into the side of the net despite Ruddy’s dive, 3-2 to Arsenal.

Max Dowman was the star of the show, man of the match for his game-changing cameo. Viktor Gyökeres was unveiled before kick-off, and the new signing was a bonus for the fans.
