Match Highlights
Brentford had the better of the first half with 58% possession, their midfield duo of Jordan Henderson and Mikkel Damsgaard running the show against United. A 76th minute VAR review saw Nathan Collins get away with a red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity on Šeško but Fernandes’ penalty was saved by Caoimhín Kelleher.
Kevin Schade was terrorizing the flanks and nearly scored, while Harry Maguire’s mistake played a part in the second goal. For United Casemiro and Patrick Dorgu showed some fight but sloppy defending cost them. Subs Bryan Mbeumo got United going late on but Brentford’s resilience won out. This result sets the Bees up nicely for Wolves, while United need a win against Leicester to steady the ship.
