Chelsea 4-1 Milan: Goals and Highlights
Chelsea scored early, capitalising on Milan’s mistakes as 37,000 fans attended the pre-season friendly at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea prepared for the 2025-26 Premier League season.
Chelsea 4-1 Milan: First Goal
In the 5th minute, Reece James delivered a dangerous free kick from the right. The ball hit Milan debutant Andrei Coubis and deflected into his own net for 1-0. Three minutes later, in the 8th minute, Pedro Neto’s curling cross found Joao Pedro, who headed home a precise header for 2-0. The Brazilian’s 5th goal in 5 pre-season games is on fire.
Chelsea 4-1 Milan: Second Goal
Milan’s day got worse in the 18th minute. Coubis, already at fault for the own goal, clumsily fouled Joao Pedro as he broke through on goal. Referee Michael Salisbury sent him off. Chelsea almost scored before half-time, Cole Palmer hit the post from a free kick and narrowly missed with another effort, but 2-0 at half-time.
Second Half Dominance
Chelsea continued to press after half-time. In the 67th minute, substitute Estevao Willian, another Brazilian star, won a penalty after being fouled in the box. Liam Delap stepped up and hammered the ball low past Mike Maignan to make it 3-0. Milan responded three minutes later, in the 70th minute, when Youssouf Fofana scored from a cross from Alexis Saelemaekers to make it 3-1.
Chelsea Seals the Win
Chelsea put the game to bed in the 90th minute. Andrey Santos played a clever pass to Liam Delap, who slotted home a first-time finish for his second of the game and 4-1. The goal showed Chelsea’s depth and attacking options and wrapped up the win.### Player Ratings
Joao Pedro was the man of the match for his goal and the Coubis red card. Liam Delap’s two goals off the bench will make him a strong contender for a starting spot. For Milan, Rafael Leao’s header was ruled out for offside, and despite Luka Modric coming on in the second half, they couldn’t handle Chelsea’s pace.
Next Up
Under Enzo Maresca, Chelsea looked sharp, building on the 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen. Chelsea now face Crystal Palace next in the Premier League. Milan, despite the loss, showed some quality and will play Bari in the Coppa Italia next.
