Barcelona started by taking the lead in the 8th minute. Dani Olmo made a run and played the ball to Lamine Yamal, whose shot hit the post. Robert Lewandowski was quick to pounce on the rebound and tap in to make it 1-0. Six minutes later, in the 14th minute, Yamal showed his skills again, beating Seoul’s defense and firing a low shot that slipped past goalkeeper Kang Hyeon-mu to make it 2-0. The young Spaniard’s goal was his first in Barcelona’s famous No. 10 jersey.

FC Seoul fought back hard, scoring in the 26th minute. Jin-Su Kim stole the ball from Yamal, and Cho Young-wook scored past Joan Garcia to make it 2-1, despite an offside controversy as VAR was not in use. Just before halftime, in the 45+1st minute, Jordanian defender Yazan Al-Arab bullied his way through Barcelona’s defense and scored to level the score at 2-2. The home crowd thought an upset was on.

Barcelona regained the lead just before halftime in the 45+3rd minute. Olmo set up Yamal again, and he cut inside and curled a beautiful shot into the top corner to make it 3-2. The goal showed off Yamal’s skills and sent Barcelona into halftime ahead.

The second half saw Barcelona’s dominance continue as coach Hansi Flick made 11 changes, including Marcus Rashford and Andreas Christensen. In the 55th minute, Christensen hit a long-range beauty to make it 4-2, showing a new side to his game. Ferran Torres added to the tally in the 74th minute, finishing a close-range effort after nice build-up play, followed by Gavi’s goal in the 76th minute, a low shot that slipped through Kang’s hands to make it 6-2.

Late Goals and Final Score

FC Seoul scored a consolation goal in the 85th minute when Han-Min Jung scored after a defensive mistake to make it 6-3. But Torres responded in the 88th minute, slotting home after a nice pass from Rashford to seal the 7-3 score. The 62,000 fans in attendance saw a ten-goal game, proving pre-season friendlies are worth watching.

Player Ratings

Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres, both with two goals, were the standout players, while Lewandowski, Christensen, and Gavi finished clinically. FC Seoul fought hard but couldn’t keep up with Barcelona’s attack. This sets up the next friendly against Daegu FC.
