The game was scoreless until the 80th minute when Kylian Mbappé scored for Real Madrid. Then it all fell apart for Getafe. A minute after coming on Allan Nyom was sent off for a foul on Vinícius Júnior – Arda Güler then set up Mbappé to score a beautiful shot into the Getafe goal. Before the final whistle Getafe’s hopes were further dented when Álex Sancris was sent off for the second time, this time in the 84th minute. Despite Getafe throwing everything at the Real Madrid goal in the last minutes Thibaut Courtois made a crucial save to keep the clean sheet.
Player of the Match
Kylian Mbappé was probably the best individual on the pitch, scoring the winner to take his 2025 tally to 50 for club and country – an amazing achievement. He showed the pace and skill that made the difference. Vinícius Júnior came on in the second half and suddenly Getafe were on the back foot – drawing fouls that led to the 2 red cards.
On the other side David Soria made some good saves to try and keep his team in the game and Álex Sancris showed some heart before he was sent off.Good for Real Madrid’s title hopes now. Check the card for more.
