Liverpool 0-3 Crystal Palace: Goals and Highlights

The Real Story

On October 29, 2025, at Anfield, Crystal Palace pulled off a massive Carabao Cup fourth-round upset against a makeshift Liverpool side by thumping them 3-0. And that’s not all, that kick-started a whole heap of pressure on the Reds manager Arne Slot.

Liverpool 0-3 Crystal Palace: Goals and Highlights

Ismaïla Sarr was the star of the show with a brace that included a nice finish & a volley right on the stroke of halftime, while Yéremy Pino sealed the deal with a late goal to send Palace through to the quarter-finals. Unfortunately for Liverpool, their gamble on a young team backfired spectacularly – they were down a man after just 80 minutes when 18-year-old Amara Nallo got his marching orders for a straight red card courtesy of a really poor foul.

Early on Liverpool had a few chances – nothing to write home about – but Oliver Glasners Eagles were always in control with some slick counter-attack play and a whole lot of confidence, which marked their third win over Liverpool this season. Palace now get a pretty favorable draw to look forward to, while Slot is getting a whole heap of grief with four straight defeats across all competitions.

The Goals

The deadlock was finally broken in the 41st minute when Daniel Muñoz flicked on a pass from Daichi Kamada into the box, and all Joe Gomez had to do was stick out a leg and he’d given away a goal – Ismaïla Sarr just lashed a shot into the bottom corner from 12 yards. That was his third of the season against Liverpool, and sixth in nine meetings all told. Three minutes later in the 44th minute, Sarr got his second with a bloody stunning volley.

After a nice one-two with Yéremy Pino just outside the box, he took once touch and then blasted the ball low into the bottom corner, leaving the Liverpool stand-in keeper Freddie Woodman rooted to the spot. Earlier, Federico Chiesa had squandered a great chance when he blasted over the bar in the 23rd minute after leaving a bunch of defenders in his wake.

The game was all but over by the 88th minute when Jefferson Lerma set Yéremy Pino up for a precise right-footed strike which went into the far bottom corner – the away fans were going wild.

Match Star

Ismaïla Sarr earned his Player of the Match award with another predatory brace – that’s 7 goals in 9 games against Liverpool for the man, including those from his Watford days. Not to be outdone, Yéremy Pino put on a show with his goal and his assist.

Daniel Muñoz and Daichi Kamada also impressed in the middle of the park for Palace. For Liverpool, there were some nice flashes from Federico Chiesa, and a couple of sharp saves from stand-in keeper Freddie Woodman – but it wasnt enough to save the day.
