Nottingham Forest 2-2 Man United: Goals and Highlights
Summary
The Premier League draw at City Ground on November 1, 2025, was a wild ride as Nottingham Forest managed to come back from behind and snatch a 2-2 result off Manchester United. That result gave new manager Sean Dyche his very first point in the top flight. And what a point it was.

Casemiro was the one who put United ahead with a dodgy header just before the break, but then in a crazy 92-second span, Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona both popped up with goals to flip the score around.
And just when you thought Forest had it in the bag, Amad Diallo pulled a point back for Rúben Amorim’s side with a simply stunning volley in the 81st minute. That extended their unbeaten run to five games. The match marked the one year anniversary of Amorim’s appointment and saw Forest finally break a goal drought that was getting on for 536 minutes long.
United had loads of chances but Forest’s lightning quick counters and all the problems United had with set-pieces made for a tight, tense match and left both teams mid-table – United in fourth and Forest creeping up to 15th.
Goals
The first half was pretty much all United but they got their reward in the 42nd minute from a corner that was a bit dodgy to say the least. Nicolo Savona seemed to keep the ball in play but referee Darren England gave it to United anyway.
Bruno Fernandes stepped up and delivered the corner and Casemiro went and got himself in the way of the rest of the Forest defense to head home past Matz Sels for his third Premier League goal of the season. And then Forest just exploded into life after the break.
In the 47th minute Morgan Gibbs-White equalised with a neat little header from Callum Hudson-Odoi‘s cross, beating André Onana at the near post. And just 92 seconds later, in the 49th minute, Nicolo Savona put Forest ahead, tapping it in after Anthony Elanga‘s shot was saved by Onana. United really pushed hard though and Benjamin Sesko even hit the bar.
The equalizer though came in the 81st minute when Bryan Mbeumo‘s corner was cleared by Nikola Milenkovic straight to Amad Diallo who just volleyed it in with no fuss from 20 yards. VAR had a look to see if there was any handball on Patrick Dorgu but thank goodness let it stand. Diallo nearly wrapped it up late on but Murillo managed to get in the way and clear it off the line.
Player of the Match
Amad Diallo won player of the match for his match-changing equaliser, his first of the season & his non-stop running which really caused Forest some problems. The 23-year-old’s volley and the way he troubled Forest’s backline was particularly impressive. Casemiro did a solid job with a goal and 6 aerials won but Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona really got the Forest game going with their goals.
Bruno Fernandes created chances for United and Matz Sels made a couple of crucial saves for the hosts.
