Wolves 3-4 Chelsea: Goals and Highlights

Summary

A crazy Carabao Cup 4th round tie at Molineux Stadium on October 29, 2025 and Chelsea just about saw off a Wolves comeback to win 4-3 and go through. Enzo Maresca’s Blues were 3-0 up at half time with early goals from Andrey Santos and Tyrique George and a cheeky chip from Estêvão but Wolves came back strongly in the second half.

Wolves 3-4 Chelsea: Goals and Highlights

Tolu Arokodare and David Møller Wolfe (twice) pulled the hosts back to 3-3 despite Chelsea playing with 10 men after Liam Delap’s red card. Jamie Gittens’ late intervention proved to be the winner as Wolves fans cheered their team on despite the loss. This win eases the midweek pressure for Chelsea while Vitor Pereira’s side, bottom of the league and with fan unrest, showed some spirit.

Goals

Chelsea didn’t take long to get going, scoring in the 5th minute when Jamie Gittens intercepted a poor pass from Tolu Arokodare and played in Andrey Santos who ran and shot low into the bottom corner.

The lead was doubled in the 15th minute when Facundo Buonanotte played in Jamie Gittens on the left; he beat Matt Doherty and squared for Tyrique George to tap in from close range. Wolves fans were getting restless, chanting at the chairman. In the 41st minute Estêvão made it 3-0 with a lovely chip over the keeper after a quick break.

The second half was a different story:

Tolu Arokodare headed in from a corner in the 48th minute to give hope to the Wolves. David Møller Wolfe pulled it back to 3-2 in the 73rd minute, firing low from a Yerson Mosquera long throw. Chelsea’s Liam Delap was sent off in the 86th minute for two yellows, including an elbow.

Jamie Gittens restored the two goal cushion in the 89th minute with a looping 20 yard volley off the post but David Møller Wolfe scored again in stoppage time (90+1’) from a tight angle to set up a crazy finish. Wolves pushed but couldn’t equalise.

Man of the Match

Jamie Gittens was Man of the Match for his two assists in the first goal and second goal and his game sealing volley. He terrorised the Wolves defence all game. Estêvão was great for his finish, David Møller Wolfe was good for his two goals and energy, Tyrique George and Andrey Santos were good for the visitors in a rotated team.
