Chelsea reportedly set to open talks with a Manchester United player
With less than a week remaining in the 2024 summer transfer window, Chelsea is reportedly set to begin talks with Manchester United about signing Jadon Sancho.
The news of Sancho’s potential move to Stamford Bridge was first reported by Sky Sports Italia journalist Di Marzio on Sunday, August 25, 2024. He confirmed the update on his official X account, noting that Juventus isn’t the only club interested in Sancho.
There are also reports suggesting Chelsea is exploring a possible swap deal with United, involving Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell as potential players heading to Old Trafford, while Sancho would move to London.
Sancho was left out of the squad for Manchester United’s Premier League defeat against Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Additionally, Sancho has removed all mentions of Manchester United from his social media bios.
It’s worth recalling that Sancho’s relationship with the club soured last season (2023/24) after he publicly refuted Erik Ten Hag’s claim that his absence from the squad against Arsenal was due to a lack of commitment in training.
