Liverpool 2-1 Brighton Highlights | Premier League

Mohamed Salah clinched the winning goal, propelling Liverpool to a 2-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion after trailing early on. This victory catapulted them to the top of the Premier League, ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Arsenal later on Sunday.

Salah’s remarkable goal in the second half secured the win, putting Liverpool at 67 points, three ahead of Arsenal in second place and four ahead of City in the heated title race.

Throughout the match, Salah was a constant threat to Brighton, taking an impressive 12 shots, his highest in a Premier League game. While only one found the back of the net, it proved to be crucial.

Brighton’s Danny Welbeck opened the scoring just 84 seconds into the game, capitalizing on a swift counterattack to blast the ball past Caoimhin Kelleher.

However, Liverpool responded swiftly, with Luis Diaz equalizing in the 27th minute after a defensive error by Joel Veltman.

Liverpool’s relentless pressure paid off again when Alexis Mac Allister set up Salah for the lead.

Although Diaz thought he had extended Liverpool’s lead, his goal was disallowed for a marginal offside after a VAR review.

Brighton’s substitute Adam Lallana missed a chance to equalize late in the game, and Salah was denied by a spectacular save from Bart Verbruggen in the dying minutes.

Reflecting on the match, Mac Allister expressed satisfaction with Liverpool’s resilience but acknowledged the need for improvement in starting strong from the beginning.
