In a chaotic match at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening, Scott McTominay’s brace propelled Manchester United to a 2-1 win over Chelsea. The midfielder scored from a rebound in the first half and headed home at the back post in the second, narrowly missing a hat-trick with other chances.
Despite an early penalty miss by Bruno Fernandes, United dominated with 28 attempts, though only nine were on target. Chelsea’s Cole Palmer equalized just before halftime, but missed opportunities cost them dearly. United, led by Erik ten Hag, secured a much-needed three points, while Chelsea slid further down the league table.
